WHITE BEAM SLITS

Horizontal white beam slits are used to narrow the beam in the horizontal direction prior to the DCM. Horizontal white beam slits are open in this picture, and the vertical slits are visible in the background.

The white beam slits are inside this chamber. The motors that control the vertical slits are near the top left portion of the photo.

CCD DETECTOR

The CCD detector for the 08ID-01 beamline will be the marmosaic CCD225.

Type Multiple CCDs; tiled fiber-optic tapers

9 CCDs; 9 tapers

X-ray Sensitive Surface 225mm x 225 mm (50,625mm2)
Detector Head Dimensions Height x Width x Depth

46cm x 32 cm x 40 cm

The marmosaic 225 CCD detector from Mar-USA, Inc. is a 3 x 3 CCD chip and optic taper detector. It has 3072 x 3072 pixels and an active area of 225 mm x 225 mm (73 µm pixel size). Its outstanding Point-Spread-Function and the large area provide excellent data quality and order resolving power.

FLUORESCENCE DETECTOR

The CMCF will be equipped with a RÖNTEC XFlash fluorescence detector. The fluorescence spectrum is used to calculated the wavelengths that maximise the anomalous signals from a particular heavy atom in a MAD experiment.
